For Christmas, I received a
set of dog biscuit 'cookie' cutters from my MIL. Along with the adorable shaped cutters came a few new recipes. I tried the following for Willow and she LOVES them. Even better, I was able to personalize them just for her! What better gift to treat your dog to homemade love or send a gift to your friend with a dog on Valentine's Day!
(Note that these treats should be fed in small amounts and are not meant to replace a well-balanced diet)
Basic Dog Treat Recipe1/2 cup cornmeal
6 tablespoons oil
2 cups whole wheat flour
2/3 cup chicken broth
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix all ingredients together well. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutter. Bake 35-40 minutes, let cool and store in tightly sealed container.
